About the Project: Since 2018, Fifth Church of Christ Scientist has partnered with Forge Development Partners to redesign the project to better meet the needs of the local community. The revised project shifts from luxury-rate housing to Essential Housing benefitting the workforce, increases the number of apartments from 176 to 316, and almost doubles the number of apartments set aside for below-market- rate housing for the most economically vulnerable. The project still includes a new turnkey Church worship space and a new Christian Science Reading Room open to the public allowing Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist to continue its healing mission and better serve the Tenderloin community that it has called home for almost 100 years.
